A Day In The Life At Local Dad Lawn & Garden

Running a local landscaping business in the tropics isn’t always easy. The summers are hot, the wet season can be tricky to navigate around and the dry winter kills the turf. But we love our community and we love what we do.

A normal work day for our team looks like getting up before the sun— we set our alarm for 5am and we’re onsite by 7am— coffee in hand and equipment ready. But what does a regular day look like?

Regular Day Onsite

Pack the ute. Head to the first job. Onsite by 7AM.

We have regular clients we do every single week. This varies between gardening and lawn mowing. Our most popular service is our 2 Hour Garden Retainer— we have clients on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequency so this looks the same every week and around these jobs we schedule one-off gardening jobs (2 hour, 4 hour or 8 hour packages).

Some weeks we have a soft landscaping job (new build installing turf, garden beds and paving) and we schedule around our regulars. Not every week is the same though— we are always learning, meeting new people, taking on new jobs and facing new challenges.

To keep our team organised and everything running smoothly, we use ServiceM8 for our scheduling and job routing. This system makes it easy to keep our clients informed by sending confirming and reminder text messages of their service, and live tracking of our arrival.

The day of the service, our client is already expecting us so we arrive onsite and get stuck into it. After the job is completed, we let our client know by sending them an invoice to pay easily from their phone.

The team works hard, getting every service/project complete, then we clock off at 3PM.

We love to diligently maintain your property like it is our own and turn a new build dirt pile into a beautiful landscape. So, whether you need:

We’ve got you covered.
